Chandler High School and Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC), have designed a cooperative program that provides the opportunity for Chandler High School students to earn high school credit and college credit while attending classes at the high school campus. Currently, there are over 300 students taking Dual Enrollment courses.
Students who register for Dual Enrollment courses MUST take the semester final regardless of grade average or exemption policy. This policy is in keeping with the Community College requirement that Dual Enrollment students take final exams to earn college credit. Students and parents should keep this in mind when planning end of the semester or end of the year travel.
Additionally, students are required to pay (either by check or credit card) by a designated date or will be purged from the Dual Enrollment course roster. This is the same policy that community college follow in the state of Arizona. There are scholarships available from each community college Chandler High works with for students who are in financial need.
Cost of a Dual Enrollment Course
* $76.00 per credit hour
* A one-time registration fee per semester of $15.00
Example: English 101 earns 3 credits
3 x $76.oo = $228.00 + $15.00 registration fee = $243.00
All students must provide a current Driver's Licence or a copy of their Birth Certificate when registering for a Dual Enrollment course to register. Placement tests are required by all the community colleges for Dual Enrollment courses, which are provided at Chandler Gilbert Community College.
